Agriculture Mechanics - NUHS
The Agricultural Mechanics pathway prepares students for careers related to the construction, operation, and maintenance of equipment used by the agriculture industry. Basic agricultural mechanics skills and safety, standards B1.0 through B8.0, cover woodworking, electrical systems, plumbing, cold metal work, concrete, and welding technology. Advanced topics, standards B9.0 through B12.0, deal with metal fabrication, small engines, agriculture power and technology, and agriculture construction.

Agriculture Mechanical Science I

This class is designed for students interested in learning more about the ag mechanical field; emphasizing hands-on learning through a series of projects in metal and woodworking, electricity, arc and gas welding, metal work and carpentry. Advanced students design and build their own projects for personal use or fair exhibits.

This class will provide students with additional understanding of physical science principles, agricultural mechanics and the use of power machines. This class is useful for students seeking employment upon high school graduation in the field of mechanics and for students planning to continue their education. Emphasis is on the use of power machines as well as arc welding, gas welding, mig welding, tig welding and small engines. Time is allowed for construction of personal projects in the agriculture apprenticeship course.

This is a class designed to meet the needs of the advanced Agricultural Mechanical Science student in individualized learning and project design. It reinforces construction skills and consumer math skills. Basic math principles are taught through a series of individualized shop projects. Students will design and build Mechanical Science projects such as livestock equipment, outdoor furniture, trailers and truck beds.
