District Curriculum Committee
 
The Nevada Joint Union High School District Curriculum Committee serves as a forum for curricular concerns throughout the district, including but not limited to State Department of Education Model Curriculum Standards, the California Common Core Standards, District Courses of Study, online learning, curriculum alignment, staff development, curriculum practices and methodologies, integrated curriculum and small learning community development, testing, evaluation, and accountability. It is a vehicle for district-wide articulation of resources such as special projects, site councils, site priorities, and district-wide priorities.
 
The Committee meets monthly throughout the school year.  Membership includes:
 
Voting Members
  • Two teachers from Bear River High School's site curriculum committee
  • Two teachers from Nevada Union High School's site curriculum committee
  • One teacher from each of the alternative sites (Ghidotti, Park Avenue and McCourtney Road)
  • School principals from Silver Springs, Nevada Union, Bear River, Ghidotti, and North Point Academy
  • Comprehensive school counselor representatives from Nevada Union & Bear River
  • One alternative school counselor representative
  • Director of Special Education
Non-Voting Members
  • District Curriculum Administrator/Superintendent (Facilitator of the Committee)
  • District Technology Director (or designee)
  • District Testing Coordinator
  • Representative from the Regional Occupational Program (ROP) & Career and Technical Education (CTE)
  • Representative from the District Board of Trustees
