The Nevada Joint Union High School District currently has a School Board vacancy.  The District is soliciting applications from interested candidates to apply for the vacancy to the high school district’s Board of Trustees.

The process for filling the vacancy is the same as that for a provisional appointment. Interested community members will submit an application to the Board of Trustees.  The Board will interview candidates at their January 11, 2023 regular meeting at Nevada Union High School. 

The vacancy is for the remainder of the current four-year term, which ends in December 2024, at which time an election will be held. The candidate MUST live in Trustee Area 3  which encompasses the Penn Valley area.   Those interested in submitting an application should contact the Nevada County Elections Office (530-265-1298) to verify that they reside in the trustee area.  (You can view a map of the trustee areas using the County of Nevada GIS map here.
